Binder, builder and owner of the hotel, made a spe- cial effort to assemble the staff that helped him make the first year of Lucerne operation the most phenomenal success in Mi- ami Beach history. Opened in 1955, the Lucerne had an occupancy count that was ten per cent above average at premier season rates.
