Mrs, Michael Comay to Be Speaker -Arline B. Schachter `Disturbed Children' Topic Slated
at Pioneer Women's Donor Event
Wed to Alan Lucko for Jewish Women's Council Event

To intensify efforts to raise
Detroit's share of a $1,200,000
national goal for this year is
the aim of Pioneer Women's 17
local chapters from now until
Dec. 15, the date of-the annual
donor event to be held at
Temple Israel, it was announced
by Mrs. Saul Rose, vice presi-
dent.
This fund, which will serve
to maintain social welfare and
education services through Pio-
neer Women's sister organization

neer Women plans to erect as
one of its major projects this
35th anniversary year of its
existence, a center which will
include all facets of their activi-
ties; a baby home for children
of working mothers; a voca-
tional training center for
women and girls and -a cultural
center that will comprise a
library and community hall.
Mrs. Milton Weiss, program
chairman, said that Mrs. Mich-
ael Comay, wife of .the Israeli
ambassador to the United
Nations, will serve as principal
speaker at the Dec. 15 affair.
Spearheading the 1960 donor
committees. are Mesdames Moe
Saslove, Bernard Markovsky, Al
Herman, Herman Kanter and
Mrs. Avner Naggar.
Mrs. Sam Wasserman is
president of Detroit Council.

A Young Artists Concert 8:30
p.m. Dec. 10 at Wayne State
University will feature Richard
Luby, violinist, and David Le-
vine, cellist, playing works by
Debussy, Franck, Grieg and oth-
ers. The performance will take
place in the Community Arts
Auditorium, Cass at Ferry. As-
sisting artists will be Rita
Sloan, pianist, and Robert Del-
any, organist.
Sixteen-year old Luby, a sen-
ior at Mumford High, is a stu-
dent of Mischa Mischakoff and
the recipient of a number of
scholarships and awards. Levine,
17, another scholarship and
prize winner, studies with Paul

In a candlelight ceremony a
Temple Israel, on Saturday eve-
ning, Miss Arline Brenda
Schachter, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. David J. Schachter, of
Muirland Avenue, was united in
marriage to Alan Edward Luck-
off, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis
H. Luckoff, of Renfrew Road.
Rabbis Leon Fram and Morris
Adler and Cantor Harold Brindell
of Chicago, Ill., performed the
double ring ceremony.
The bride, escorted by her
father, was gowned in ivory silk
brocade. The square neckline,
long tapered shirred sleeves and
empire bodice were appliqued in
tiny pearls. Her dome shaped
floor length skirt fell into a
chapel train. Her shoulder length
mantilla was of heirloom lace.
