Rosner Family Club will meet Sunday at the home of Mrs.
Lena Rosner, 8910 Chalfonte.
Mrs. Ruth Strefling will entertain the Makie family annual
dinner party Sunday at the Wilshire Hotel.
Mrs. Max Ellis has been elected president of the Bronstein
Family Club. Others taking office are Martin Bronstein, treasurer;
and Mrs. Martin Bronstein and Mrs. Bill Bronstein, secretaries. Mr.
and Mrs. Julius Bronstein, honorary members, have resumed resi-
dence in Detroit after many years in Miami Beach. The next
meeting will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Bronstein
of Oak Park.
A family party was given Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Philip Feigenson, 2771 W. - Seven Mile, in celebration of the 40th
wedding anniversary of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Holzman
of Elmhurst Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Metier (Marlene Berman) and daughter,
formerly of Prairie Ave., are now residing at their new home, 19646
Donna, Livonia.
Morris Feldman was elected honorary president of the Feldman
Family Club-at a recent meeting held at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Harold Beck of Washburn Ave. Named president was Gerald Feld-
man. Others elected were Jerry Chess, vice president; Lillian Olken,
secretary; Mrs. Faye Feldman, Harold Feldman and Robert Feld-
man, treasurers; and Philip Beck, sergeant-at-arms. Committee chair-
men include Mrs. Philip Beck, Mrs. Bela Reinitz, Mrs. Jerry Chess,
Mrs. Robert Feldman and Mrs. Harold Beck.
A surprise testimonial dinner was given recently at Larco's in
honor of Louis and Rose Bensman of Marlow Ave., Oak Park, by
their 34 nieces and nephews and children Beverly and Bob Can-
vasser. Ralph Bensman was master of ceremonies. Ben Pasman pre-
sented a bronze plaque to "Uncle Lou" and "Aunt Rose" in apprecia-
tion for their inspiration to the family.
Students from African and Asian countries were special guests
at a party Saturday _evening at the home of Berenice and Mary Appel,
19733 Shrewsbury. The event, sponsored by the Student Zionist
Organization and Israeli Student Organization, was in honor of
Israel's neighbors and allies, with representatives from Iran, India,
Jordan, Afghanistan, Japan, Nigeria and Tanganyika.
Social sororities at Wayne State University have added 133
women to their roster as a result of the fall rushing season. The
women who are pledged to the 13 sororities on campus will be
formally initiated into their individual sororities in January.
