At the annual Balfour event of the Zionist Organization
of Detroit, Nov. 1, at Masonic Auditorium, during the inter-
mission of the concert that featured the Israel Philharmonic
Orchestra, Mayor Louis C. Miriani (center) received the Tel
Aviv Municipality's Medallion which was presented to him
in behalf of Tel Aviv's Mayor Mordechai Namir by the orches-
tra's concertmaster, Zvi Haftel (left). Judge Ira G. Kaufman,
ZOD president (right), presided at the ceremony and greeted
the gathering in behalf of the Detroit Zionists. Mayor Miriani
in turn presented thte Key to the City to Haftel to be given
to Tel Aviv's Mayor, and gave each of the members . of the
orchestra smaller keys to the city as mementos of their
visit here.
