Sheruth League Presents Mignon
in 'Fashions for '61' Fund-Raising

Renowned designer Vincent
Mignon will fly in from New
York to present his entire col-
lection for spring land resort
–2; wear in "Fash-
ions '61," the
annual fund-
raising lunch-
eon of Sheruth
League, to be
held 1 2 :3 0
p.m. Wednes-
day at the Ma-
sonic - Temple.
Featured

and his orchestra,• announces
Mrs. Edward Singer, donor chair-
man.
Half of the proceeds of
Sheruth's fund-raising will go to
its new capital funds project, the
establishment of a "residential
treatment center" for emotion-
ally disturbed girls.
The center, to be called
"Sheruth House," is designed to
provide a home for aid to those
emotionally disturbed girls who
cannot stay with their families
but do not require intensive in-
stitutional treatment. Sponsored
by the Jewish Family and Chil-
dren's Service, the center will be
the first of its kind established
by a Jewish group for Jewish
girls in this area.
The remainder of the proceeds
from "Fashions '61" will be used
for camp scholarships and
clothing.

Mrs. Solovich Describes
Freedom Tour at BB
Parley in. Washington

A small porcelain replica of
the Crusade Freedom Bell was
given Mrs. Charles Solovich,
Bnai Brith Women president, by
Willy Brandt, governing mayor
of West Berlin, on her recent
trip to Europe as a member of
the Crusade for Freedom study
tour.
She described this memorable
event in her openihg address to
the executive board of the na-
tional organization last week in
Washington D.C. Among her ex-
perienceS, she said, was "seeing
at close hand the magnificent
operations of Radio Free Europe
in its attempt to penetrate the
Iron Curtain." The group of 62
persons reprenting national or-
ganizations in the U.S. was lab-
eled "spies" by Iron Curtain
countries' newspapers and kept
under close surveillance as it
approached border points.
