Feature: To mark the occas-
ion of the program's 10th year
on NBC television, several out-
standing scripts from the past
decade will be presented using
an entirely new cast and pro-
duction. "Pages from the Tal-
mud," the first in this eight-
part series, by Morton Wishen-
grad, is a documentary present-
ing various sections from the
Talmud and citing excerpts
from "Ethics of the Fathers."
George Voskovec is narrator,
and the cast includes Norman
Rose, Wesley Addy and Cantor
Robert H. Segal. Following the
dramatic production, Alan M.
Stroock, chairman of the 'board
of the Jewish Theological Sem-
inary of America, will present
a • scroll on behalf of the Sem-
inary to Robert W. Sarnoff,
chairman of the board of the
National Broadcasting Com-
pany.

Man" by Joseph Mindel, fifth
in a series of episodes from
American Jewish history, will
portray the poignant story of
Isaac Lesser, cantor, teacher
and founder of one of the early
Hebrew schools , in the United
States. He was instrumental in
the establishment of the Jew-
ish Publication Society and in
the printing of the Hebrew
Bible in English. This presenta-
tion tells of his struggle to de-
velop a united Jewish commun-
ity.

Will Be Presented Here
to Four Indiana Leaders

Four Jewish leaders in North-
west Indiana, who were the
architects of a merger uniting
three separate federations into
a single, professionally - staffed
central community organization
to provide better communal serv-
ices for all, have been named
winners of the 1960 Edwin
Rosenbprg Award for outstanding
leadership.
They are Benjamin Saks, pres-
ident of the unified Northwest
Indiana Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion; Harry Nelson, president of
the former Gary Jewish Welfare
Federation; Simon Miller, pres-
ident of the former East Chicago
United Jewish Appeal; and Ed-
ward Rudin, president of the for-
mer Hammond United Jewish
Appeal.
The awards, a hand-crafted sil-
ver medallion, suitably inscribed
and mounted on a finely" wrought
silver stand, and hand-lettered,
illuminated scrolls, will be pre-
sented Nov. 12 at the 29th Gen-
eral Assembly of the Council of
Jewish Federations and Welfare
Funds in Detroit.
