Yom Kippur night, he regarded

them as "a sort of sacrilege."
"How Jews who at the close
of the Neilah services can stand
before the 'gates of eternity' and
en find themselves several
ours later, out on the dance
oor doing the cha-cha and the
ambo is beyond my poor men-
lity to understand," he said. "It
speaks well for their physical
strength but ill for their sense of
appropriateness."
He contended that "Post Yom
Kippur should find all members
of the family in the sanctuary of
the home." He added that Jews
"have_ always been admired for
the closeness of family ties. Why
run from home, family, friends
when the observance concludes'?"
