Women's Committee Active in Behalf

A committee of women, representing Zionist and other
movements in the community, is active in encouraging early
purchases of tickets for the annual Balfour Concert of the
Zionist Organization of Detroit. This year's event will feature
the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, at the Masonic Temple,
Tuesday evening, Nov. 1. Active leaders in women's activities
for the concert are, left to right: Standing, Mesdames I. Walter
Silver, Ira G. Kaufman, Charles Gitlin, Sidney Brand, Ben
Jones, who was hostess at her home on Hamilton Road at a
cocktail party for 150 on Oct. 9 for sponsors and donors,
Valter Poole, Irving Sniderman and M. Ben Lewis; seated,
Mesdames Samuel Gold, ZOD director, Philip Slomovitz, San-
ford Bennett, Aleic Friedlaender and Sherman Shapiro.

"International Night," 8 p.m.
Sunday in the Franklin Memo-
rial Hall.

be The Estonian Folk Dancers,
led by Toivo Simmons; Cathy
Sirko, a singer of French, Span-
ish, Lithuanian and American
folk music; and Mrs. Anna K.
Forbat, a graduate pianist of
Lizst's Conservatory in Buda-
pest.
Refreshments will be served
at the conclusion of the pro-
gram. All single adults between
the ages of. 21 and 35 are invited
to attend.
