Mrs. Markel under the
leadership of Mrs. Oscar Spil-
kin, will host the evening, dur-
ing which a guided tour of the
new house of worship wil be
conducted.
Representatives from sister-
hoods throughout the State of
Michigan will meet to discuss
many items of special interest
to Jewish women in the country,
such as the Mathilde Schechter
Residence Hall for Women to
be erected in New York City;
the coming national convention
of the League to take place at
Hotel Concord, Kiamesha Lake
in November; cultural, religious
and national aspects on the
local, national and international
scene.
A special feature will be a
visio-audio presentation entitled
"Do's and Don'ts of Parliamen-
tary Procedures," led by Branch
Parliamentarian Mrs. I. E. Good-
man, with Bnai Moshe Sister-
hood members participating.
Mrs. Markel has appointed
Mrs. Norman Allan as chairman
of convention for Michigan.
Other oficers recently elected
are vice-presidents Mesdames
Isadore Leeman, David Wolin
of Flint, and Sidney Weinberg;
recording secretary, Samuel Wil-
ner; corresponding secretary,
Irving Chaiken; financial sec-
wretary, Adolph A. Winkler;
and treasurer, Harry Gunsberg.
The over-all Branch chairman
for the Mathilde Schechter Resi-
dence Hall project is Mrs.
Charles A. Smith.

to Dedicate Newly
Expanded Building

ices will mark the dedication of
the newly expanded 11 - story
headquarters of the Union of
American Hebrew Congrega-
tions House of Living Judaism,
838 Fifth Ave., New York, Oct.
20-23.
Emil N. Baar, chairman of
the board of trustees of the
UAHC, predicted that over 1500
lay and rabbinic leaders from
all parts of the country would
participate in the events. .

Beth Yehudah 1960 Dinner-Show
Committee Seeking Record Year

Beth Yehudah School's 1960 Dinner and Show committee
meeting in the home of General Chairman Morris Karbal
announced that the first report of committee workers indi-
cates that the affair this year, Nov. 2'7, will probably pass the
600 mark. Proceeds of the Dinner-Show benefit will be used
for the Torah-education programs of the Yeshivah. Shown
