A fund created to honor one
of Boston's- leading champions
of brotherhood will underwrite
religious activities for Catholic,
Protestant and Jewish students
at Brandeis University.
Greater Boston friends of Mr.
and Mrs: Ben G. Shapiro of
Brookline created the gift,
which was announced at a din-
ner in Temple Ohabei Shalom,
Brookline. Shapiro, founder and
secertary of the Massachusetts
Committee of Catholics, Pro-
testants and Jews, earmarked
the fund for students at Bran-
deis, where he is a -member of
t h e University's President's
Council.
The Ben G. and Belle Shapiro
Three Chapels Fund will be
used to support and encourage
activities of the Bnai Brith Hil-
lel Foundation, the Newman
Club for Catholic students, and
the Student Christian Associa-
tion, the national Protestant or-
ganization, with emphasis on
interfaith amity.

through Oct. 12 at the Anna L.
Werbe Galleries, 19458 Livernois.
Miss Hecht, 38, is a graduate of
the Art Institute of Chicago and
a member of the Michigan
Watercolor Society, Detroit So-
ciety of Women Painters and
Sculptors, and the Alumni Asso-
ciation of the School of the
Art Institute of Chicago. Her
work has been exhibited at
shows of these organizations,
the Scarab Club • Watercolor
Exhibition, the Detroit Artists
Market Exhibition at the J. L.
Hudson Co. and others.
Miss Hecht has been awarded
the Albert _Cuppenheimer
Scholarship, the Gold Medal
Award of the Art Directors
Club of Chicago, the Gracia M.
F. Barnhart Award and won
first honora;,le mention in the
Scarab Club Watercolor Ex-
hibition in 1957.
