Shernoff, na- recording secretary. ,200 Arab Claims Nov Settled in Israel JERUSALEM, (JTA)—More than half of the 7,200 claims submitted by Israeli Arabs for compensation f o r confiscated property have been settled since payments were started in 1954, the Ministry of Finance re- ported. A Ministry spokesman said that in the settlement of the 4,200 claims, the Arab claim- ants have received to date more than $4,000,000 in cash, 7,000 acres in land and hundreds of building plots and other prop- erty. He added that claims were still being received by the Is- rael Development authority to which 2,250 acres of land and other property was transferred in accordance with the Aban- doned Property Law of 1950 and the Land Purchase Law.
