ment of their daughter, Gail, to
Daniel H. Cohen, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Cohen, 10360 Oak
Park Blvd., Oak Park.
The bride-elect is a graduate
of Miami Beach High School.
She is a senior student at the
UniverSity of Michigan.
Her fiance is a graduate of
Lincoln High School in Fern-
dale. He attended the Univer-
sity of Michigan and is now a
student at Wayne State Univer-
sity College of Medicine. He is
a member of Pi Lambda Phi,
undergraduate social fraternity,
and Phi Lambda Kappa, med-
ical fraternity.
The engagement party will
be held tomorrow in Florida.
The couple will be married next
year in Miami Beach.

ILIARY, recently serviced the
Cottages Division of the Juvenile
Detention Home, reports Presi-
dent Mrs. Jack Iden. The young-
sters were treated to a birthday
celebration with refreshments
and prizes, according to Child
Welfare Chairman Mrs. Bernard
Yoffee. Assisting Mrs. Yoffee
were Mrs. Joseph Berger, Mrs.
Gordon Kanel and Mrs. Iden.
Representing the Auxiliary at
the National JWV Convention in
Miami Beach, Fla., is Mrs. Mor-
ton Oppenheim.

An eight-year-old boy who up
to now has been unable to
lead a normal life, left for Den-
ver last week and the National
Home for Asthmatic Children.
David Eckhouse, the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Julius Eckhouse,
24081 Blackstone, 0 a k Park,
will be the newest resident of
this unique, non-sectarian home
for youngsters 5 to 15 who suf-
fer from the serious respiratory
disease of asthma.
The first Detroit boy to enter
the Home in the past two years,
David was unable to obtain re-
lief from medications or drugs.
His mother was told about the
activities of the three local
groups, and after joining North-
west Chapter applied to the
Home. A study of his severe
case -led the NHAC to accept
the boy.
Another member, past presi-
dent Mrs. Morris Burnstein will
be reunited with her son Joseph
next month after his two-year
stay in Denver. She reports that
the Home taught the boy to
"live a normal life."
Financed by chapters
throughout t h e country, t h e
Home provides care fol. chil-
dren from all walks o life and
from all parts of the world. A
recreation center, schooling and
religious education are provid-
ed for all, and Jewish residents
are offered kosher facilities,
Hebrew studies and holiday ob-
sefvances.
