Two Teheran Jews in
Contest for Jewish Seat
in Iranian Parliament
TEHERAN, (JTA) — Two
Iranian Jews, Morad Arieh and
Amshid Kashfi, are contesting
the seat allotted to the Jewish
community in the election to the
Majlis (lower house).
Arieh is a member of the
Opposition, the People's (Mar-
dom) party, and Kashfi of the
governing Nationalist party. The
Jewish community favors Kashfi
since Arieh, who is titular head
of the community, has alien-
ated many Jews by his anti-
Zionist stand.
