Hebrew Academy's curriculum
makes it possible to accept

wise be barred for a full year
because of age.

The Hebrew Academy of Oak
Park, located in the Peter and
Pauline Goldstein Bldg., 13855
W. Nine Mile, this week con-
cluded its extended summer
session and day camp program
introduced at the school for the
first time six weeks ago.
Rabbi Israel Flam, director
of the Academy, has announced
that plans are nearing comple-
tion for the school's fall cur-
riculum.
At a special meeting of the
board called last week, Myer
Mandelbaum, vice-president of
the P.T.A., divulged a number
of expansion projects which
will get underway when school
resumes in September.
Established locally two years
ago, the Academy is Oak Park's
only Hebrew day school, offer-
ing a comprehensive Hebrew-
English curriculum for chil-
dren of nursery age through

S. Jerome Bronson, an Oak
Park attorney, overwhelmed his
two rivals in Tuesday's primary
election f or -t h e Democratic
state senatorial nomination in
Oakland County.
Bronson, 24540 Seneca, will
face the Republicans' Farrel E.
Roberts in the November elec-
tion. Roberts defeated his rival,
Richard D. Kuhn, by a vote of
19,950 to 16,406 to become the
Republican standard-bearer for
the Senate post.
Bronson polled a total of
15,785 votes to win the nomin-
ation from his Democratic oppo-
nents, Robert Chapin (7,804)
and Joseph Sadinik (7,799).
Bronson emerged as the sole
Jewish successful candidate in
Tuesday's Primaries.

Beth Shalom Opens
School Registration

registration for its religious
school at the synagogue build-
ing, 14601 W. Lincoln, 0 a k
Park.
The primary school consists
of nursery to second grade
(ages 4 to 7) and includes in-
struction in Hebrew, reading
readiness program, Jewish holi-
days, customs and ceremonies.
The Hebrew school is limited
to children (8 years and up) of
members only and meets two
afternoons and Sunday.
Elementary Sunday school
will be held for third through
the sixth grades (ages 8 to 12)
and includes courses in Jewish
history, Jewish customs and
ceremonies and Jewish holidays.
The schools are for boys and
girls.

Rabbi Yaakov I. Homnick,
spiritual leader of the Young
Israel Center of Oak-Woods,
announced the formation of a
special girls group for the fall
in the Young Israel Center of
Oak-Woods Hebrew Schools.
The new accelerated girls
program will emphasize mat-
ters pertaining to the Jewish
home. Crafts, household arts
and Jewish music will be some
of the areas stressed.
Due to the schedule of the
Oak Park Junior High and
High School, this group, meet-
ing three times weekly, will be
available in both morning and
