MRS. IVAN SCHATTEN Gail Marilyn Cooper became the bride of Dr. Ivan C. Schat- ten recently in a garden wed- ding ceremony held at the home of her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Katz of W. Outer Dr. Rabbi Segal and Cantor Fena- kel officiated. Parents of the couple are Mr, and Mrs. Nathan Cooper and Mrs. David Schatten and the late David Schatten. The bride wore a cocktail- length gown of egg shell chiffon over ivory satin with a scoop neckline a n d three-quarter- length sleeves. Her pearl-trim- med head band held in place a shoulder-length veil , of French illusion. The bride carried 'a Bible mounted with a bouquet of stephanotis .-and white or- chids. - Mrs. Sanford. Eichenhorn of Tucson, Ariz., 'served as her sister's matron of honor. Brides- maids were Linda Cooper, sister of the bride; and Sandra Kwel- ler of Brownsville, Pa., sister- in-law of the bridegroom. Alex' Kweller of trownsville was his brother-in-law's best man. Out of town guests attending the wedding were from Florida, Washington, D.C., Arizona, Ohio and Pennsylvania. The couple plan -to reside at 3962 Suitland Ave., Washing- ton, D.C., after a honeymoon in the Catskills. Major Attractions in Theater Series Detroit's subscription p 1 a y series for 1960-61 will open Aug. 23 at the Riviera Theater with the best musical comedy produced on Broadway last sea- son,' the Puiltzer Prize winner, "Fiorello!," the song-and-dance story of the early years of New York's colorful mayor, Fiorello La Guardia. The August opening makes Detroit the first city of the road schedule to begin the new season.
