BENNETT COHON series for 1960-61 will open Aug. 23 at the Riviera Theater with the best musical comedy produced on Broadway last sea- son, "Fiorello!," the song-and- dance story of New York's colorful Mayor F i or ell o La Guardia. The series is planned and ad- ministered by the The at e r Guild-American Theater Society under the auspices of the Coun- cil of the Living Theater. Another attraction, scheduled shortly after the engagement of "Fiorello!," is "A Majority of Pne," featuring Gertrude Berg and Cedric Hardwicke. Arthur Laurents will be rep- resented here by "Invitation to a March," starring Shelley Win- ters, and including Eileen Heck- art and such second generation talents as Henry Fonda's daugh- ter Jane and Helen Hayes' son, James MacArthur. In the course of the season, the Detroit subscribers will see "At the Drop of a Hat," "A Raisin in the Sun," and "Five Finger Exercise" and others to be announced. Marilyn Brenda Bez, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel M. Bez of Indiana Ave., became the bride on July 10 of Bennett Cohon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Allan Cohon of Canton, Ohio, at the Adas Shalom Synagogue. Officiating at the ceremony were Rabbi Jacob E. Segal and Cantor Nicholas Fenakel. The bride wore ivory peau de soie fashioned with an empire bodice of peau de lange lace and garlands of matching lace appliqued on the dome-shaped skirt and chapel train. The poufe veil of ivory silk illusion fell from a Dior bow of match- - ing silk. She carried white orch- ids and stephanotis on her Con- firmation Bible. Sharon Bez was maid of hon- or for her sister. Bridesmaids were Miss Maryann Cohon, sis- ter of the groom; Mrs. Stewart Willens of Canton; Miss Sandra Rabinowitz, Mrs. Michael Hartz and Miss Teri Diem. Toby Bez was flower girl. Acting as best man for his cousin was Stewart Willens of Canton, Ohio. Ushers were Rich- - and Schuman of Canton; Jay Clar of Cleveland; Bert Bez, Herbert Bez and Jeffrey Raben. The couple chose Canada for their honeymoon, after which they will motor to California where they will make their home.
