Jewish Appeal will launch a
special program in the United
States, aimed at developing fu-
ture leadership for the organi-
zation from among the younger
generation of American Jews,
it was announced here Tuesday
by Rabbi Herbert Friedman,
UJA executive vice chairman,
who reported on the projected
program at a meeting here of
the Jewish Agency Executive.
The UJA leader stressed that
the UJA campaign total of $33,-
500,000 for the first half of
1960 was achieved without any
crisis appeal. The campaign in
the U. S. stressed the long-term
needs for the consolidation of
Israel's agricultural settlements.
