"From farms in the Negev
and the Galilee, the products
of Jews, who have come to
us from all over the world
are marked 'Israel products'
and go out to Europe," she
said. "That is exciting. That
is the drama of Israel—in the
tomatoes that are being ex-
ported, in the eggs from Is-
rael that I was served in
Rome by the Prime Minister
of Italy.

"Provided there is the human
material, we can produce any-
thing in Israel and then we can
affirm that there are no deserts
in Israel," she added. She pre-
dicted that enough oil eventu-
ally will be found to provide
for Israel's needs. She declared
that "we have Eilat" and that
it will remain a free waterway
for Israel, in spite of Nasser's
attempt to deny freedom of
the seas to Israel.
The day will come, she pre-
dicted, "when Jews who can
not leave their present homes
will come to Israel.. We must be.
prepared to provide the homes
they will need in Israel. That
is why we come to you to im-
plement our. needs."
Mrs. Meir declared that "there
no longer are any degradations
for Jews 'in Israel — no po-
groms — and if any one falls
in our ranks it is in self-
defense."
She deplored the fact that
Israel is compelled to spend -
much for defense, and she ad-
monished the warlike neighbors
that their needs could be served
humanly if, instead of arming
to the hilt against Israel, they
were instead to help raise the
standards of their oppressed
peoples.
Mrs. Meir made important
statements, affirming that Adolf
Eichmann will not be released
by Israel and will be tried
there.

ment in ,Eichmann story on
