Dr. and Mrs. M. Ira Harow,
of Beverly Hills, Calif., have
announced the engagement
their daughter, Elaine Phyllis,
to Jerry I. Saltsman, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Alex Saltsman, of Les-
lie Ave., Detroit.
Mr. Saltsman is a graduate of
Wayne State University, where
he is currently doing post-
graduate work. Miss Harow is a
student at the University of
California at Los Angeles, and
is majoring in chemistry.
Plans are being made for a
July 4 wedding in California.

Jewish seniors from Detroit
and suburban high schools will
gather at 8 p.m., Sunday, in the
Jewish Community Center,
18100 Meyers, to discuss oppor-
tunities available to them in
colleges, the armed forces and
in employment after gradua-
tion.
The occasion is the sixth an-
nual Institute for Jewish Sen-
iors of High Schools, sponsored
by the Jewish Community Coun-
cil in cooperation with the
Bnai Brith Hillel Foundation,
Jewish Family and Children's
Service, Jewish War Veterans
and Jewish Vocational Service.
Harry Kobel, chairman of the
Institute, announces that all
high school seniors are invited'
at no charge. Refreshments will
be served following the pro-
gram.
Among the participants in the
program are Dr: Samuel Krohn,
Council vice-president; Dr. Max
Kapustin, director, Wayne State
University Hillel Foundation;
Irving S. Cane, commander,
JWV Department of Michigan;
Benjamin J. Shumaker, voca-
tional counselor of .JVS; and

The Institute is held annually
