SYNAGOGUE The season of graduation, confirmation and consecration continues this week with exer- cises planned by the following synagogues: Temple Israel Closing exercises for the He- brew school will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, when the sermon will be delivered by Bernard Kirzner and Howard Shapiro, two of the students. The prayer service will be conducted by Susan Jacobstein, Brian Seyburn, Mark Bobroff, Deborah Nathan, David Syme and Joel Hencken, while par- ticipants in the Torah service are Jonathan Rose, Barbara Kellman, Janice Bobroff, Phil Oppenheim, Joanne Monson, Judy Monson and Harold Oseff. The Maurice Barr Scholar- ship Awards will be presented to two outstanding students in the school, and other awards, determined by Mrs. Sidney Sol- omon and Mrs. Harold Boigon and their committee, for schol- arship and attendance also will be awarded. The presentations will be made by Mrs. Harold Bobroff and Mrs. Harold H. Gil- bert. A kiddush will follow the service, with Mesdames Ernest Golumbia and Harry Pliskow in charge of arrangements. Cong. Ahavas Achim "Our Song of Faith," a pres- entation based on the Book of Psalms, will be a highlight of the confirmation service to be held at 10 a.m., Sunday. The public is invited. A unique feature of the pres- entation by the confirmands will be musical accompaniment by Mrs. Jack B. Mash, on the harp, and David Cziesler on the violin. The synagogue choral group, under the direction of Cantor R. Isaac Sten, will augment the service. SERVICES TEMPLE ISRAEL: At 8:30 p.m. services today, Rabbi M. Rabbi Wine has resigned as assistant rabbi to pursue a full time program of doctoral study at the University of Michigan.
