a new tax exemption for Israeli
residents investing "hard" cur-
rency in local stocks, in an
effort to give further encourage-
ment to such investments.
Under the proposals, such
investors will be exempt from
tax on dividends and interest
for a period of eight years from
the time of the investment. The
proposed Treasury regulation is
to go into effect after approval
by Parliament's finance
committee.
