rectors' Council of Jewish Reli-
gious Schools of Metropolitan
Detroit this week indicated a
combined enrollment of 6,675
students. '
The schools range from one-
day to three-day-a-week schools,
there being three schools inthe
latter categdry. The study re-
vealed that of the 213 teachers -
employed, 152 of them hold
teaching certificates.
All schools involved in the
survey require Hebrew lan-
guage as a basic part of the
curriculum, and five of the one-
day schools specify that stu-
dents from the sixth •grade up
acquire Hebrew studies else-
where during the week.
Whereas some schools do not
require tuition fees from mem-
bers, others ask $30 per child
annually for one-day a week
and $100 annually for the three-
day-a-week classes. Non-mem-
bers pay between $40 and $50 a
year per child for one-day
schools.
Participating schools in the
survey were from Adas Shalom,
Beth Aaron, Beth Abraham,
Beth Shalom, Bnai David, Bnai
Moshe, Temple Emanu-El, Ever-
green Jewish Cong., Temple
Beth El and Temple Israel.
