les Solovich, international pres-
ident of the Bnai Brith Women,
newly-elected officers of the
Greater Detroit Bnai Brith Girls
Council were installed in office
in recent ceremonies.
Carol Zeiger, of Gershwin
BBG, was inducted president.
Other officers are Ann Katkow-
sky, Sy-Teens, and Barbara
Minkow, Chavayros, vice-presi-
dents; Sandra Chapin, Free-
man, secretary; Vicky Shapiro,
Myerson, reporter; and Joyce
Sherman, Savage, counselor.
The installation, which took
place at a mother-daughter ban-
quet, also highlighted a life
membership ceremony, in
which Council leaders who
graduate from the program are
given BBG life membership
cards.
Other guests at the banquet
besides Mrs. Solovich were Mrs.
David Grosberg, chairman-elect
of the Michigan regional BBYO
board; Mrs. Philip Edelheit,
Women's Council president;
Mrs. Nathan Kantor, Council
BBYO chairman; Myrna Cous-
ens, president of the Young
Adults Council; and Annette
Muller, immediate past presi-
dent of the BBG Council.

ing officer . and Earl Yaillen,
regional director, officiated at

Ernest Gans was elected pres-
ident at a meeting of the gen-
eral assembly of Selfhelp De-
troit, recently.
To assist him during the com-
ing term of office are Jack
Stattman, vice-president; Eric
Daniel, treasurer; Mrs. Max
Gidion, secretary; and Walter
Herz, honorary and regular
board member.
Members of the board are
Aaron Blumberg, Paul Corby,
Henry Ellenbogen, Karl Lowy,
Bernard Marx, Albert Rosen-
berg, and Mesdames Oscar Am-
berg, Ernest Gans, Richard
Kramer, John Leopold, Else

Gans reported on the suc-
cessful conclusion of negotia-
tions with United Help, Inc., of
