Registration in all age groups
for the fall semester of the
United Hebrew Schools is now
under way, with classes in ele-
mentary grades to start right
after Labor Day.
To meet graduation require-
ments and Bar Mitzvah regula-
tions of the synagogue, children
who have now reached the age
`of eight should be enrolled in
Hebrew schools. Bar Mitzvah
preparation is a regular part of
the Hebrew school course for
which there are no extra fees or
charges.
Classes for girls are now
being offered in mast branches
of the United Hebrew Schools,
in addition to regular classes
open to both boys and girls.
These classes are designed es-
pecially to prepare the girls for
Jewish living in the home. For
information, call DI 1-3407.
In response to many requests
for modern Hebrew training for
young children on an informal
basis, classes are being formed
for six and seven year olds, to
meet twice weekly. The pro-
gram will consist of Hebrew
conversation, Hebrew songs and
playlets, and holiday celebra-
tions. Teachers specially trained
in working with young children
will be in charge of this pro-
gram.
