Seltzer was named the 1960 winner of the association's annual awar•l to the graduating medical student with the highest academic rec- ord. Ronald is the son of Prof. Lawrence H. Seltzer, of the uni- versity's economics department, last November, Satinsky was named vice president. His other national affiliations include membership on the Na- tional Cabinet, United Jewish Appeal; vice president of the Joint Distribution Committee; vice president of the American Jewish Committee and a mem- ber of the United Jewish Ap- peal Conference in Jerusalem. In Philadelphia, Satinsky has served as president of the Al- lied Jewish Appeal and Jewish Exponent; vice president of the Albert Einstein. Medical Center and the Federation of Jewish Agencies; vice chairman of the board of Dropsie College and a director of Akiba Hebrew Acad- emy. Other officers elected include Jack Solis-Cohen, Jr., honor- ary president; Justice Horace Stern, Dr. Jacob R. Marcus, Edwin Wolf 2nd, Bernard L. Frankel, Bernard G. Justice Horace Stern, for the past 48 years a vice president, served as interim president. Scion of a distinguished Jew- ish family, Satinsky has been one of the guiding lights of the society for many years. He served as treasurer from 1949 to 1953 and as a vice president from 1953 until he assumed the presidency. The award is granted to stu- dents now attending any univer- sity or college in Michigan or to member of the January or June 1960 graduating classes of any high school in Michigan. Those eligible for consideration are veterans or - the sons or daughters of needy or deceased veterans. The amount of $500 will be awarded to one recipient or divided among several, de- pending upon the number of most qualified applicants. ON LIVERNOIS Announces His First The report of the past year, as presented by Wolf, showed an increase of 9% in mem- bership enrollment and 12% in book distribution over the preceding year. The latter in- cluded 47,000 Bibles and more than 105,000 other books. JWV Again to Make Scholarship Award to a 1960 Graduate president of Wayne's chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha, the na- tional honorary scholastic soci- ety, and of the Aesculapian So- ciety, its honorary service group, and he served for two years as president of his class. Last summer he received a fel- lowship from the Michigan Heart Association for research in England. He will intern at the hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia beginning July 1. Robert Abramovitz, 18295 Monica, a sophomore, was hon- ored for compiling the highest two-year scholastic average.
