to All
My Friends
Dear Friend:
Congregation B'Nai David, with whom I have been associ-
ated for many years, is presenting a "Night of Stars," Saturday
evening, June 4th, 9 P.M. at the Ford Auditorium. So I figured
why shouldn't all of rny friend's know about it right away. That
posed quite a problem. How am I going to let everybody know
all atonce. 'Cause you see, I didn't want to waste any time
Then came the idea of writing an open letter to my
friends, by way of an advertisement, in thepaper. That was a
wonderful idea, except that it costs money, and I don't have to
tell you how scarce that stuff is in a shool. That left only one
avenue open, we gotta get a sponsor. N-u—thank God.
Here I am to tell you about our show. We expect it will
be a very pleasant and most en'oyable evening, one you will
long remember. Money cannot buy finer talent. Every act truly
a star in their own right. Alan King, America's top comedian, •
The Barry Sisters, need we say more? The Yemenites Dancing
Group, and others.
My advice to you, don't wait too long to secure your tickets.
Call any member of the committee, over which Jack Lieberman
is overall chairman, or call the office of the Synagogue, ELgin
6-8210 or KEnwood 8-1700. I know you will thank me after the
show.
