Passover teaches us that there can be
no happiness for any one, on this festival,
unless we provide joy also for others.

We can not fully enjoy our meals,
unless we provide meals also for others.

As we celebrate Passover, we join in
the urgent appeals to our community to
make a success of the Allied Jewish Cam-
paign, thereby assuring the United Jewish
Appeal with the necessary funds for the
great humanitarian work among oppressed
Jewries, and to assist in the settlement of
tens of thousands of the dispossessed in
Israel.

We urge our rabbis to devote _their
Yizkor sermons to appeals in behalf of the
Allied Jewish Campaign and the United
Jewish Appeal.

Thereby, we will be doubly blessed,
and we will fulfill the mitzvah of helping
our less fortunate kinsmen.

Dead Sea Area
Expedition Finds
Valuable Relics

JERUSALEM, (JTA) — The
largest archaeological expedi-
tion ever sent to the Dead Sea
area, 120 archaeologists and
students, returned with a collec-
tion of important new findings.
These included several strips of
papyrus and many copper and
clay utensils, as well as weapons
of the Bar Kochba period.
The expedition, led by Prof.
Yigal Yadin, was divided into
four groups. The explorers
combed hundreds Of caves near
the Dead Sea where substantial
archaeological finds have been
made. The area was a refuge
for the Jews after the Roman
occupation. The Israel Army
provided transportation, com-
munications, tent housing and
food during the two - week
search.
The expedition found that
many of the caves had already
been searched by Beduins, pos-
sibly from Jordan, strengthen-
ing a belief that many ancient
scrolls sold in Jordan were
found in Israel territory.

The hearing was on an ap-
peal by ARAMCO from a ruling
last July 15 by Supreme Court
Justice Henry Epstein that
ARAMCO hiring policies vio,

accepted briefs from both sides
and indicated it w, uld give its
finding later.
