As George Jessel has said
about Eddie Cantor, he "writes
about life as sagely_ as only a
great comedian, wonderful fath-
er and a tolerant •American
would, and rightly so because
Cantor is funny and kind and
wise."
Thus, Cantor's latest book,
"The Way I See It," is among
the good sellers because of the
human values emphasized by
the great comedian.
"The Way I See It," edited
by Phyllis Rosenteur, published
by Prentice-Hall " (Englewood
Cliffs, N. J.), is Cantor's sixth
book. His earlier works were:
"My Life Is In Your Hands" (in
which David Freedman collabo-
rated); "Caught Short," which
brought him a much-needed in-
come after he was wiped out
in the stock market crash;
"Your Next President," "Be-
tween the Acts" and "Take My
Life" (with Jane Kesner Ard-
more).
"The Way I See It" is a deep-
ly moving story in which Cantor
calls for a wholesome outlook
on life, speaks up in defense
of the immigrants, sets up an
example for highest standards
of inter-faith and inter-racial
relationships and e x p r e s s es
gratitude for life's bounties. He
displays strong faith, and con-
cludes on an optimistic note:
"Enthusiasm is a gift of God. I
had it—and I have it still."

praised by a Pultizer prize au
thor for his "monumental re-
forms," but she declared that
even his "brilliant record" could,.
not help him win• a vice-presi-
dential nomination.
Margaret L. Coit, writing in

noted, "Any American can grow.
