Significance of M onth of Nissan: No Mourning, Only Festivity During Passover Season

Nissan, • and eulogies as well
as fasting are prohibited dur-
ing this month.
The month of Nissan is re-
garded as a festive month.

stituted a series of 12 holidays
since during each of those days
another Chieftain of the 12
tribes would offer his sacrifice
of dedication. The 14th day of
the month was a festive occa-
sion since the Passover lamb
was sacrificed on that day. Then

over.
