MRS. ARNOLD SAMEROFF

In an evening ceremony,
Jacquelyn Klein, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Max Klein, was
united in marriage to Arnold
Sameroff, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Stanley Sameroff, on March 26,
at Rainbow Terrace. Rabbi
Milton Arm and Cantor Pavel
Slavensky officiated.
The bride wore a dome-
shaped gown of silk taffeta
which extended to a long chapel
train. The bodice and skirt were
appliqued with scrolled Brus-
sel's lace. Her short two-tiered
silk illusion veil fell from a
tiara of pearls, and she carried
a bouquet of white orchids and
stephanotis arranged on her
confirmation Bible.
Mrs. Leroy Neumann at-.
tended her cousin as matron of
honor. The bridesmaids were
Audrey, Schneid, Judith Bress-
ler and Sandra Katcher. Philip
Sameroff was his brother's
best man, and ushers were Mar-i
yin Eichelbaum, Robert . Wand- i
ruff and Robert Klein, brother
of the bride.
Also in'the bridal party were
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Fried, -grand-
parents of the bride; Mrs.
Bertha Klein, grandmother of
the bride, escorted by George
Schneid; and Mrs. B. Lerman
grandmother of the bridegroom,
escorted by Martin Eichelbaum.
Out of town guests included
Mrs. B. Lerman of Los Angeles;
Mrs. A. Silverman and Mr. N.
Lyle of Philadelphia; Mr. and
Mrs. S. Eichelbaum, and Mr.
and Mrs. B. Kr o o p of New
York; Dr. and Mrs. S. Sarason,
of New Haven; Cantor and Mrs.
P. Slavensky, Cantor H. Brin-
dell, R. Rosin and Dr. and Mrs.
J. Abrams, of Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. Sameroff are
honeymooning in Nassau, after
which they will resume their
studies at the University of
Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Morrison Hotel, Chicago. She
will give a convention report

at 9 p.m., April 5, in the Oak
Park Community Center, when
the television film, "Nurem-
berg Trials," dealing with the
proceedings against Nazi war
criminals, will be show n. A
social hour will follow.

A coin box opening luncheon,
celebrating the 18th anniversary
of the Beth Aaron Sisterhood's
Torah Fund, will be held at
12:30 p.m., Tuesday, in the syna-
gogue social hall.
The Sisterhood Choral Group,
directed by Shoshana Freed-
man, will be heard in a cantata,
"The P r . o p he t s Teach Us."
Rabbi Benjamin H. Gorrelick
will be guest speaker.
Mrs. Jack Shenkman is Torah
Fund chairman, and is assisted
by Mesdames Irving Chaiken
and Herman Becker.
Mrs. Albert Kaplan, Sister- ,
hood president, announces that
an election meeting will be held
at 12:30 p.m., April 4, in the
synagogue social hall, when Mrs.
Shenkman, nominating commit-
tee chairman, will read the
slate.
A cooking demonstration of
Passover foods will be pre-
sented by the - membership,
under the guidance. of Mrs.
George Fredson, program chair-
man.

Local WSU Engineers
Named to Dean's List

The college of engineering
at Wayne State University has
named 26 men to the Dean's
Honor List for high scholastic
achievement in the semester
ending January, 1960.
Included in the list of stu-
dents who received all A's and
B's are Marshall H. Kaplan, of
18695 Monica and Bruce L.
Ettinger, of 16233 Indiana.
Kaplan, an aeronautical en-
gineering major, accumulated
an honor point average of 3.63
out of a possible 4.
Ettinger, a mechanical en-
gineering student, received a
3.81 average. Both men car
ried 19 hours of studies, and
have been named on previous
Dean's lists.

The annual theatrical tour works of Goldfaden, Pinski and
sponsored by the Farband Rosenfeld.
Labor Zionist Order will be in
Detroit at 8:30 p.m., Wednes-
day, in the Hayim Greenberg
Center, 19161 Schaefer.

mony performed in the presence

KAPLAN BROS. RECIPE OF THE WEEK!

BEEF CHOP SUEY

1 1/2 pounds beef, diced
1 /4 cup oil
2 tablespoons soy sauce
3 cups celery, cut in 1 inch
pieces
2 large onions, chopped
1 tablespoon molasses

2 cups beef bouillon
2 cups canned bean sprouts
drained
3 tablespoons cornstarch
2 teaspoons salt
Freshly ground black
pepper
6 cups hot boiled rice

Fry beef in oil over high heat for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
Stir in soy sauce, salt and popper. Remove meat and keep hot.
To oil remaining in saucepan add celery, onion, molasses and
bouillon. Bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes, stirring fre-
quently. Add bean sprouts and cook for 3 minutes. Replace beef.
Mix cornstarch and 1,4 cup water, and add. Cook until thickened,
stirring constantly. Serve with rice. Serves 6.
