The United States is far from being the only country where extensive building programs are being conducted by Jewish communities seeking to estab- lish new synagogues. -In an article forwarded to The Jewish News this week from Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Hack, now visiting in Australia, the Sydney Daily Telegraph re- ports that the city will have no fewer than 12 synagogues when a current program of building is completed. The story states that there are 25,000 Jews in Sydney, which up until the present build- ing boom had seven synagogues.
