As part Of the ceremonies,
some of the most important
personages in the Jewish world
and in Israeli affairs will gather
in a shaded, landscaped knoll: to
:dedicate a beautiful bell of
bronze, which. has been called
the "Freedom Bell."
Its significance, as the in-.

of Israel and of all mankind."
The link between the "people
of Israel and the United States"
refers to the efforts of Hadas-
sah, the Women's Zionist Or-
:'ganization of Ainerica, which ,
, has raised upward of $17,000,000
toward the center.
It was . no small honor this

publisher of The Jewish News,

the Freedom 'Bell by Detroit
Chapter of Hadassah.
In presenting him with a
certificate for the Freedom Bell
inscription, the only one to be
made by the Detroit Chapter,
Mrs. David Schachter, president,
said: '
"This award is being made
not only for your many contri-

sah, through the years, but also
for your assistance to the cause
of Israel and of Zionism which
you worked for so unstintingly,
long before Israel became a
state.
"Your high standards as a
Publisher and editor and your
abilities as a writer have been
an inspiration to all of us in the
community to become better,
more discerning, Jews."
