that all divisions in the cam-

increased giving over last year.
He reported substantial in-

Next Tuesday, the furniture

The Casablanca Jewish com-
munity evacuated the Talmud
Torah, and prepared the build-
ing to house refugees. About
100 Jewish refugees arrived in
Casablanca and another boat-
load was expected later. The
JDC contributed $5,000 for
emergency aid work.
On Monday, Kirsch presented
to the daughter of King Mo-
hammed V, Princess Lalla
Aicha, a check for 2,500,000
Moroccan francs ($5,000), to aid
in the relief of Agadir earth-
quake victims. The contribution
was for "general" relief activi-
ties, not earmarked solely for
Jewish victims.
Princess Lalla is head of the
National Moroccan Welfare Or-
ganization.
In presenting the check to
the Princess, Kirsch also of-
fered to the Welfare Organiza-
tion the use of JDC's Moroccan
staff of specialists in child
health, nutrition and general
social welfare. The gift, he
said, supplements the JDC con-
tribution of 12 tons of food and
other supplies already given in
Morocco for general distribu-
tion.
In addition to the gifts for
general distribution, JDC head-
quarters here pointed out, spe-
cial measures are also being
taken in Morocco for relief of
the many Jewish victims of the
disaster, estimated at a mini-
mum of 1,500.
