The Israel Prime Minister, Mrs. Ben-Gurion and Avraham Harman, Israel Ambassador to the United States, were guests of honor at an informal breakfast tendered at Brandeis University here Wednesday at which the Prime Minister made the'proposal. Dr. Abram L. Sachar, the university's president, greeted the guests on behalf of the 250 members of the Jewish-sponsored university's board of trustees and faculty. Dr. Sachar pointed out that Brandeis Univers- ity- and the State of Israel were both founded in 1948. - Recalling that Ben-Gurion had visited the univers- fty in 1951, Dr. Sachar expressed gratification at the fact that since that date "the State of Israel has grown much stronger and is a symbol of the dignity of the Jewish people." Mr. and Mrs. Ben-Gurion also were greeted by Abraham Feinberg, chairman of the university's board of trustees, and Mayor Austin Rhodes of Waltham. Thanking Brandeis for the reception, the Prime Minister said: "I want to stress my wish that some of your best students, when they graduate, will come to work and live in Israel. I hope there will be an ex- ehange of students between Brandeis and our univers- ities and colleges. This exchange will bring nearer Is- raeli Jewry and American Jewry, and I hope that other American universities will follow suit." Dr. Sachar, declaring that he was "willing to take up the Prime Minister immediately" on the proposal said there was no reason why an Israeli workshop for Brandeis students could not be set up in the very near future." Thousands of Israelis of Moroccan origin who have relatives in Agadir are urgently trying to obtain information on their kin through various indirect channels since no direct contact with Morocco is possible from here. Morocco broke off postal communications with Israel several months ago in compliance with the Arab League's anti-Israel boycott. Israel's willingness to receive all Jewish survivors of the Agadir earthquake disaster was stressed by Yaacov Tsur, member of the Jewish Agency executive. He termed as "inhuman" the fact that Moroccan Jews in Israel cannot contact relatives in Agadir to ascertain their fate. (Two-thirds of Agadir's Jewish population perished in the earthquake and tidal wave, David Moryouffes, president of the Agadir Jewish community, stated in Casablanca. He estimated that only 700 of 2,200 Jewish residents of the Mo- roccan coastal town survived the disaster. He said he had lost his entire family. The city's Jewish section and the Moslem quarter on the seaside - which it adjoined were wiped out. The JDC was the first volunteer agency to rush supplies to the survivors of the stricken city. It shipped in food, clothing, shoes and blankets to the value of four million Moroccan francs ($8,000). Henry Kirsch, JDC representative in Casa- blanca, arranged the shipment of supplies after conferring with the Moroccan authorities. The surviving Jews were attempting to make their way to Mogador where many of them had lived originally. Others went to the town of Araudamt. Efforts to identify the Jewish survivors have begun. Jewish institutions in Agadir were almost all destroyed. One of the most tragic incidents was the destruction of the Lubavitcher Yeshiva where 80 children lived. Sixteen were taken from the debris.
