0 21Four Temple Israel Scouts Earn Eagle Award; Two Get Ner Tamid In observing the 50th anniversary of scouting at its recent Scout Sabbath service, Troop 146, sponsored by the Temple Israel Men's Club, had individual cause for celebration. Four boys, an unprecedented number in the history of the troop, were given their Eagle awards, highest in scouting. They are, left to right, bottom row, MARK SHOOK, LANCE MERMELL, LOWELL SEYBURN and CHARLES TOBIAS. Standing are Scoutmaster SIDNEY SEYBURN, STEVEN KUTNICK and DONALD NEWMAN,- whO received the Ner Tamid award, highest religious distinction a Jewish scout can achieve, and Scoutmaster BURTON CHASSIN. All four Eagle scouts won the Ner Tamid last year. • Beth Aaron Set to Burn Mortgage at March 19 Event Plans for a special ceremony marking the burning of the mortgage of Beth Aaron Syna- gogue are being made for March 19, when religious exer- cises in the sanctuary will be followed by a supper-dance in the social hall. In connection with the mort- gage-burning for the -seven- year-old building, congregants are publishing a Golden Book to contain a history of the syna- gogue and the names of all the contributor-, who have made the mortgage burn in g possible, stated Joseph Braver, general chairman. The book also will serve as a repository to record future synagogue achievements. Mrs. Albert Kaplan is co- chairman of the event, while Mrs. H.
