"Of Thee I Sing," the Pulitzer
Prize-winning musical satire on
politics by George Kaufman and
Morrie Ryskind, will be pre-
sented by members of Adas
Shalom Synagogue at 8 p.m.,
March 15 and 16, in the syna-
gogue social hall.
Selected for its tuneful score
and gay lyrics by George and
Ira Gershwin, the musical will
be a highlight of the congre-
gation's 15th anniversary cele-
bration.
Mort Zieve, producer-director
at WXYZ, is in charge of the
production. The cast is made up
largely of amateurs, but a num-
ber of important roles are be-
ing taken by professional enter-
tainers.
The female leads are Rita
Bell Connolly, who is seen reg-
ularly on Detroit television
screens; and Dell Warner, who
has performed in several Broad-
way productions.
The male lead is Harvey
Saris, who sang the leading role
in the Detroit Parks and Recre-
ation production of "Roberta."
Stuart Stahl, familiar to tele-
vision viewers as the judge on
"Night Court" plays the part of
a politician.
