Yeshivah Girls
to Host Parley

Delegates from 11 Jewish
girls' high schools in the United
States and Canada will con-
verge on Detroit this weekend
for their third annual conven-
tion.
Beth Jacob School for Girls,
a division of the Yeshivath
Beth Yehudah, will be host to
the 150 visitors. They have
made all the arrangements for
lodging, meals and program for
the four-day gathering.
Rabbi Simcha Wasserman,
dean of the West Coast Tal-
mudic Seminary in Los Angeles,
will keynote the conference at
the opening session this after-
noon. A number of workshops
will be conducted by the girls
themselves.
The main convention address
will be delivered by Rabbi
Meyer Eisemann, principal of
the Hebrew Academy of Minne-
apolis, on Sunday evening, at
Cong. Beth Shmuel. Another
major speaker will be Rabbi
Mordechai Giffa, of the Telshe
Yeshiva, in Cleveland.
Other sessions are planned at
Cong. Mogen Abraham and in
the Daniel A. Laven building of
the Beth Yehudah Schools.
The convention will be ad-
dressed at sabbath morning
services by Rabbi S. P. Wohl-
gelernter. Rabbi Leizer Levin,
chairman of the presidium of
the Council of Orthodox Rabbis,
will extend greetings.
All of the participating
schools offer a curriculum
which combines advanced Jew-
ish studies with state-approved
secular studies. Most of the
students plan to enter Jewish
education or communal work.
Several of the • visiting girls
will be heard on the Yeshivah
portion of the Altman Jewish
Hour, at 11:15 a.m., Sunday, on
station WJLB.
