"The Cold Wind and the
Warm," last year's New York
success, tells a story of Amer-
ican Jews in New England fol-
lowing the turn of the Century.
It is based upon autobiograph-
ical material used by Behrman
in a series of New Yorker
sketches and a book. "The Wor-
cester Account."
Three performances will be
held at 8:30 p.m., Thursday.
Saturday and Sunday. Feb. 25.
27 and 28.
Featured in the cast are Sol
Belin'ky. Ralph Bernstein.
Stuart Freedman. Bernie Gross,:
Elaine Hyman, Dr. Edward Le-
vine. Ethel Levine. Mike Mar-
golin. Gil Parish, Sheldon
Slavin. Nancy Wayburn and
Mildred Kotzer.
The play is produced by Sid-
ney J. Winer and directed by
Victor Hurwitz WWJ-TV di- •

Emma Schaver
to Give Concert
at Town Hall

Detroit soprano and record-
ing artist Emma Schaver will
appear in New York's Town
Hall this Saturday evening in a
concert of religious and folk
music.
Mrs. Schaver comes to Town
Hall following concerts in St.

Louis. on Jan. 28, and Pitts-
burgh, on Feb. 3. which for-
mally opened Jewish Music
Month in those cities.
Her appearance this Saturday.
on Shabbat Shira (the Sabbath
of Song) will mark the offi-
cial opening of the music month

festivities. which run from Feb.
13 to March 13.
Mrs. Schaver will sing songs
from the Bible. folk songs. sab-
bath hymns and "Songs from
Destruction to Redemption."
Tier repertoire includes the
work of 18 of the greatest Jew-
ish composers.
The singer, wife of Detroit
businessman Morris Schaver,
will be accompanied by a cham-
ber orchestra and male chorus,

conducted by Moshe Badmor,
Israeli director and former con-
ductor of the Haifa Symphony
