Friday evening forums will be
presented by Beth Abraham
Synagogue at 8:30 p.m., today,
when Boris M. Joffe, executive
director of the Jewish Com-
munity Council, speaks on "The
Organizational Structure of the
American Jewish Community."
A discussion period and so-
cial hour will follow. Lawrence
Yaffa will preside at the pro-
gram, and Rabbi Israel I. Hal-
pern will introduce Joffe.
The congregation will mark
Youth and Scout Sabbath at
8:40 a.m. services Saturday,
when young members of the syn-
agogue will conduct the service,
read from the Torah, chant the

liturgy and preach the sermon.
Members of the Beth Abra-
ham Scout Troop will serve as
ushers, and Girl Scouts will
serve the kiddush.
Participating in the service
will be Mark Schlussel, Aaron
Blumenfeld, Herschel Schlussel,
Matanyahu Fuchs, Larry Ber-
kower, Sanford Mosher, Sol

Temple Israel Service
Marks Music Month;
Slate Scout Sabbath

Ushering in the observance
of Jewish Mus;-! Month, Temple
Israel will present a special
program of traditional and
modern Jewish melodies on the
opening sabbath of the month-
long celebration, at 8:30 p.m.,
today.
The sabbath program will be
conducted by Karl Haas, music
director and organist of Temple
Israel. Two choirs will be fea-
tured—the professional quartet
and the volunteer choral group.
The service also will mark
the temple's celebration of Race
Relations Sabbath and Brother-
hood Week. Members of the
congregation have been urged
to invite friends of other
faiths to attend the service.
Dr. Leon Fram will deliver
the sermon on-the double oc-
casion on th - topic of "Faith Is
a Song."
The 50th anniversary of the
Boy Scouts c• - America will be
observed at a Scout Sabbath
Service planned at the temple
on Feb. 19. Members of the

Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts,

sponsored by the Men's Club,
and the Girl Scouts and
Brownies, sponsored by the Sis-
terhood, will participate in the
service.
