Schedules Games Night

Four in Community
Win Youth Awards

A night of games is planned
by the Detroit Auxiliary, City
of Hope, on Feb. 25, at Tur-over
Temple, 12129 Dexter, accord-
ing to Ralph Stein, president,
who will be host at the gather-
ing. The public is invited to
join in the affair, proceeds of
which. support research pro-
grams on cancer, leukemia and
tuberculosis at the Du a r t e,
Calif. institution.

Among the seniors from De-
troit high schools to be honored
by educational, business and
civic leaders at a banquet in
the Sheraton Cadillac Hotel
were four students from Henry
Ford and M u m f or d High
Schools.
They are Susan Stark, 20175
Northrop, and Jerome Cohn,
18652 Sunderland, of Ford; and
Susan Rice, 19520 Shrewsbury,
and Thomas Allan Segall, 19195
Washburn, students at Mum-
ford.
The students were chosen by
fellow classmates and teachers
as the "outstanding citizens" of

established three years ago, is
sponsored by the Detroit Police
Department in cooperation with

3 pounds ground meat
3/4 cup chopped green pepper
1 cup chopped onions
2 cups hot barbecue sauce
Combine meat, onion and green pepper with 1/2 cup hot barbecue
sauce. Shape into 12 hamburgers. Broil, turning once and basting
frequently with hot barbecue sauce. !Serve with remaining bar-
becue sauce.

HOT BARBECUE SAUCE

2 teaspoons Tabasco sauce
21/2 cups bottled - chili sauce
1 teaspoon chili peppers,
minced

2 cups chopped onion
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon brown sugar,
1 bay leaf, crumbled
1 teaspoon dry mustard

V2 cup lemon juice

1 teaspoon salt

Combine ingredients with Y2 cup water. Bring to a boil, reduce
heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Serve with hamburgers, Iamb
or chicken. Makes about 6 cups. Sauce may be kept covered
in a refrigerator for at least 1 week.
