ries of six outstanding films
and speakers presented by the
Jewish Community Center, has
announced its spring program.
"The Life of Emil Zola,"
1937 classic biography of the
famous author, climaxed by his
campaign to clear the name of
Captain Dreyfus, starring Paul
Muni and Gloria Holden, will be
shown at 8 p.m., Sunday, Jan.
24, in the Aaron DeRoy Theater.

2 cups diced beets
6 garlic cloves, minced
4 cups shredded cabbage
1 /4 cup chopped parsley
3 pounds beef flanken
1 small bay leaf, crumbled
2 large onions, chopped
1 teaspoon paprika
31/2 cups canned tomatoes
3 tablespoons sugar
3 /4 cup lemon juice
1 teaspoon salt
Freshly ground black pepper

SAUCE OR COCKTAIL SAUCE
READY TO SERVE

Cover, Flanken with 2 quarts of water. Bring to boil, reduce
heat, cover pan and simmer for 1 hour. Add vegetables, lemon
juice and seasoning and simmer for 2 hours. Cut meat into
1-inch pieces. Return meat to soup and simmer for 10 minutes.
Serves 6.

MISS SUZANNE NATHAN

The engagement of Suzanne
Wohl Nathan to Gerald J. Gunz-
burger was revealed at a cock-
tail party on New Year's Day by
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Law-
rence E. Nathan, of Thatcher
Ave.
The prospective bridegroom,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest
Gunzburger, of Bogota, Colom-
bia, holds a bachelor's degree
from the National University
of Colombia and a master's
degree in chemical engineering
from the Massachusetts Insti-
tute of Technology.
Miss Nathan is a graduate of
the Wayne State University col-
lege of education. An April 10
wedding is being planned.

is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

the son - of Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Glazer,• of 18695 Santa Barbara.
Rabbi Jacob Segal officiated
with Cantor _Nicholas Fenakel.
The bride's satin ivory gown
featured Alencon lace, a Peter
Pan collar and long tapered
sleeves trimmed with seed pearl
buttons. Her fingertip veil of
tulle fell from a crown of
matching lace, which was faced
with peau de soie, and she car-
ried three white orchids ar-
ranged on her confirmation
Bible with stephanotis, ivy and
a shower of ribbon.
Mrs. Irwin Epstein, sister of
the bridegroom, was matron of
honor. Judith Gail Beresh,
'cousin of the bride, was maid
of honor. The bridesmaids in-
cluded Faith Klein, Brenda
Berk, Joby Goldberg, Sheila
Glass, Andrea Goodman and
Sharon Katz.
Howard Schwartz was the
bridegroom's best man. Ushers
were Marvin and Bertram Per-
nikoff, the bride's brothers; Ir-
win Epstein, Sheldon Glass,
Lawrence Mendelson, James
Spurtner, Sheldon Gordon and
Donald Klein.
Out-of-town guests at the
wedding were from New York
and New Jersey.

Dr. Wiesner to Address
Kvutzah on New Trends

"New Trends in the Philos-
ophy of Religion" is the title of
an address to be delivered by
Dr. Naphtali Wiesner before
the Kvutzah Ivrith on Saturday
evening, in the Hayim Green-
berg Center, 19161 Schaefer.
Dr. Wiesner, a product of
European y e s h i v o t and an
ordained rabbi, was educated in
Breslau and received his PhD
degree from the Institute for
Social Research in New York.
He is currently serving as edu-
cational supervisor of the
United Hebrew Schools.
The lecture is open to the
public at no charge.
