THE DETROIT H NEWS — Friday, Jan Two New Heinz Kosher Recipes These two tasty recipes use the newest of the Kosher Soups from the House of Heinz—Tomato Soup with Rice— bearing the (U) seal of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congre- gation of America on its bright red label. STUFFED EGGS IN TOMATO SAUCE 6 hard cooked eggs 1/2 cup dry cottage cheese 1 tspn salt 1 tblspn choPped green pepper 1 tblspn vegetable shortening 1 tblspn chopped onion V3 cup milk 1 can (103'1 ounces) Heinz(U) Condensed Tomato With Rice Soup, undiluted Heat oven to 350 degrees F. (moderate). Cut eggs in half lengthwise; remove yolks and mash. Add cheese, green pepper and salt to yolks; mix well. Re-fill whites and place in baking dish (eight inches by eight inches by two inches). Saute onion in shortening until transparent; stir in soup and milk. Pour around stuffed eggs. Bake 25 minutes. Serve over hot but- tered rice, garnish with paprika and parsley. Makes six servings. SPANISH RICE 1 tspn salt 1 medium onion, sliced 1/2 cup chopped green pepper 1 tblspn vegetable shortening 1/2 cup rice 1 can (103/4 ounces) Heinz(U) Condensed Tomato With Rice Soup, diluted with an equal quantity of water Saute onion and green pepper in shortening until onion is transpar- ent. 'Add rice and stir. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring frequently. Miami Beach Hotel The ownership of the San Marino Hotel in Miami Beach has been assumed by Detroiter Sol C. Shaye. Preparatory to this acquisi- tion, Shaye completely redec- orated and remodeled the 135- room hotel at 43rd Street and the ocean. A well-known hotelman, Charles J. O'Brien, has been named resident manager. Stan- ley Singer, formerly of the Nau- tilus Hotel, is director of sales. Harold Turk, former Miami Beach Mayor and nationally known in Bnai Brith circles and a Fellow of Brandeis University, is an associate of Shaye.
