Council Plaque, the De Molay
Legion of Honor Medal, and the
America-Israel Friendship
Award of the Mizrachi Women's
Organization.
About a score of colleges
and universities have honored
him with degrees, which include
doctor of laws, doctor of lit-
erature and doctor of human
letters. He is a fellow of Bran-
deis University.
JNF Auxiliary leaders em-
phasized this week that the
proceeds of this year's fund-
raising event will go towards
the establishment of the In-
dependence Forest project in
Israel. The site of the planned
forest, in which the 50 states
of the U. S. will be included,
will be on 2,000 acres of land
near Jerusalem. Each of the
50 States in the Union, and
the District of Columbia, will
have designated woodlands.
Mrs. George Lerner is presi-
dent of the Detroit JNF Auxil-
iary.
Mrs. William Levin is this
year's fund-raising chairman.
Her co-chairmen are Mesdames
Milton Winston and Ben Nosan.

ship and membership retention
program on Jan. 11
Mrs. Phillip Edecneit, presi-

Mrs. Charles Galinsky, member-
ship chairman, and Mrs. Harry
Bodzin, retention chairman, to
head the evening event, at Adas
Shalom Synagogue.
An "Around the Clock" fash-
ion show will highlight the
program, which marks the cul-
mination of individual efforts
by the Council's 26 local chap-
ters who have been holding
monthly teas.
