He states that during the Suez crisis, in Abbottabad, "everybody literally went wild with enthusiasm for Nasser and the Egyptian cause." He writes that "as for Nasser and Egypt, like all Pakistanis, the army men had a strong emotional affinity for what they consider to be the Arab-Islamic cause, together with a tradi- tional anti-colonialism, which means dislike, coupled with re- spect, for the British, and hat- red of Israel." Zionist Movement Needs Internal Changes, Mrs. Halprin Claims On the eve of her departure for Israel where she will attend the plenary session of the Jew- ish Agency Executive and the forthcoming session of the Zionist Actions Committee, Mrs. Rose L. Halprin called for a "fundamental internal reorientation of the Zionist movement." Among the major tasks which warrant attention at the forth- coming Actions Committee meeting, Mrs. Halprin singled out the Agency's educational activities in the Diaspora. "In financial terms, these educational programs absorb only a small fraction of tthe Jewish Agency's budget," she said. "Yet with these limited funds we have projected a pro- gram of modern Jewish and Hebrew education which is finding acceptance in ever widening circles." Mrs.. Halprin mentioned - that a number of American Jewish organizations have expressed conccern over the lack of depth in American Jewish education. She pointed out, however, that public statements are not al- ways followed up by appro- priate action. "The Jewish Agency has been poineering in the field of Amer- ican Jewish and Hebrew educa- tion for the past. decade," Mrs. Halprin stated. "In its educational work, the Jewish Agency stresses the unity of the Jewish people." UN. ADVERTISING ART 1-5600 11111111111 ■ ..— NEW CAR! USED CAR. or SERVICE!
