"Isabel Rents" commenced Detroit's most unique new busi- ness on Tuesday, when . it opened its doors at 18280 Liver- nois, near Curtis. Owned by Isabel (Mrs. Alan) Grossman, the new business spe- cializes in the rental of every- thing for the party, banquet, or reception, and in the sale of all types of gifts. The service of "Isabel Rents" is unique because everything is delivered to the customer "Saran" wrapped and sterilized, ready for use on the clients table. This involves. a tremen- dous savings since the expense and time involved in washing and cleaning the china and sil- ver before use is eliminated. Mrs. Grossrnan's new headquar- ters is equipped with complete- ly automatic dishwashing and steriliiing equipinent to "assure the highest standard of -clean- recreation room but the rest of the basement as well became far too small. When Mrs. Grossman started, she purchased enough- china ware, and other equipment to serve 60 party guests. However, word quickly spread that the very "finest" in china, table- ware, and linens could be rented for parties at a nominal cost. The demand became so great that Mrs. Grossman, who is now either called "Isabel" or "Mrs. Rents" by her many clients, has enough glassware, silver, and fine china to service 3,000 people. She has serviced as many as 20 different parties on the very same date. Isabel's one woman staff has now grown to a staff of eight. - Bonn to Stand Cost of Belgian Losies liness. . NEWARK, N. J., (JTA) — New Jersey's ban on trading on Sundays continued to be en- forced following refusal last week-end by a Federal Court to disturb the enforcement of this law. In a 2 to 1 decision, the court declined to issue a temporary injunction sought by three Orthodox Jews pending the out- come of their suit before the state's Supreme Court challeng- ing the constitutionality of the law on the basis that it violates the First Amendment which guarantees religious freedom., Counsel for the three Jewish plaintiffs noted that their clients observed the Jewish Sabbath and closed their stores from Friday sundown until Saturday night. They argued that they were being penalized for their religious beliefs by being re- quired to close on a day that they did not observe as the sab- bath. The measure, which went into effect on Nov. 29, bans Sunday sales of clothing, home and office furnishings, appli- "ances and building material. I Your Host* Woodrow W.
