Chess Tournament
The first Motor City Open
Chess Tournament will be spon-
sored by the University of De-
troit Chess Club this weekend,
in the Union Building of the
McNichols campus.
All chess players, regardless
of ranking, are eligible to enter
the tourney. Simultaneously,
there will be a special tourna-
ment for students.
Registration begins at 6:30
p.m., today, and the first round
will be played at 7:30 p.m.
There will be two rounds each
on Saturday, at 2 and 7 p.m.,
and on Sunday, at 9 a.m. and
2 p.m..
Winner of the tournament
will have his name inscribed
on a special trophy to be dis-
played at the university. Stu-
dent winners also will receive
trophies.
Entrants in the open must be
members of the United - States
Chess Federation. For informa-

at the Stratford Shakespearean
Festival during the summer of
1960.
The production of "Romeo
and Juliet," in which she will
appear as the greatest of all
Shakespeare's romantic hero-
,ines, will be staged by Michael
Langham.

one of three plays- offered dur-
ing the Stratford Festival of
1960, which will open June 27
and continue through Sept. 17.
The other two will be an-
nounced at a later date. One,
as previously noted, will be di-
rected by Tyrone Guthrie; the
third will be staged by a direc-
tor yet to be chosen.
It will be designed by
Tanya Moiseiwitsch, whose
contributions to the decor of
past productions and the ac-
tual design of the famous

ROAST TURKEY IN FOIL
1-12 lb. oven ready turkey
1 teaspoon thyme
Mar Pary
1 teaspoon basil-salt
1 /a cup dry white wine
Freshly ground pepper
1/4 cup brandy
1 recipe of stuffing
Rub inside of turkey's cavity with salt and pepper and rub the
skin with Mar Parv. Fill turkey loosely with stuffing and wrap it
in foil, pouring wine, brandy and herbs over the turkey before
closing the foil tight. Roast turkey in hot oven (400) for 3 1/2 hours.
Fold foil back, and roast. for 30 minutes .or until the turkey is
brown.

BASIC BREAD STUFFING
8 cups bread crumbs or cubes
1 /2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
1/2 cup Mar Pary
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
1 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chicken bouillon
1 cup diced celery with leaves
1/2 teaspoon Tobasco sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
Melt Mar Parv. Add onion, celery, Tobasco, poultry seasoning
and salt. Cook until onion is tender but not brown. Combine with
bread crumbs and parsley. Add bouillon, toss lightly with a fork
until well mixed. Yields enough for one-12 turkey, using 3 /4 cup
stuffing per pound dressed weight.
