Eisen- drath and Dr. Nelson Glueck. Terming the program "un- paralleled in the history of American Judaism," Dr. Eisen- drath and Dr.. Glueck pointed out that "the plan of develop- ment is nationwide in scope, with multi-million dollar ex- penditures mapped for the con- struction and improvement of worship, educational, youth, camp and administrative facili- ties in New York, Cincinnati, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami and other parts of the coun- try." The $15,000,000 to finance the program will be sought through a specially incor- porated agency designated "the Development Fund for American Judaism." Although construction has al- ready been started both in New York and Cincinnati, the two religious leaders said this has been done on the basis of size- able initial gifts by a handful of contributors. The Development Fund drive will be launched officially next Wednesday, at a luncheon meet- ing of the Reform movement's national leaders in the Fon- tainebleau Hotel, Miami Beach, as one of the highlights of the UAHC's 45th biennial general convention. The Development Fund cam- paign will be headed by Max L. Koeppel of New York as chairman, and by former United States Senator Herbert H. Lehman. The UAHC expansion plan calls for adding three floors to the national headquarters build- ing on 5th Ave. and 65th St., New York; improvement of summer youth camps, construc- tion_ of _r egional houses as Academies of Jewish Studies, creation of a synagogue build- ing and subsidy loan fund, pur- chase of motor buses to serve for as synagogues-on-wheels rural areas, opening of library and information centers and creation of a religious film library.
