New JFCS Family Education Series
to Sift Problems of Aging Parents

How to help adult children
and their aged parents to. live
together with greater under-
standing and comfort will be
the subject of a six-session dis-
cussion series to be conducted
by the Jewish Family and Chil-
dren's Service later this month.
The series, entitled "Under-
standing Our Aged Parents,"
is part of a new program of
family life education sponsored
by JFCS, and is the outgrowth
Of many requests received by
the agency for greater informa-
tion on the subject of the aging
and family relationships.
Through discussion it is hoped
to allay anxieties • that many

adult children feel in connection
with the care of aged parents.
The series will be conducted
by members of the JFCS pro-
fessional staff, and will include
a consideration of community
factors affecting the aging proc-
ess, their characteristics . and
the resources available to serve
the aged.
Material will be presented on
the aging process, the physical,
social and emotional develop-
ments of the aged and how in-
dividuals grow and behave in
society.
Further information is avail-
able by calling Mrs. Wilbur S.
Stein or Sheldon Siegel at the
JFCS office, DI. 1-5959.
