Detroit's two newest "Women
of Valor" will be honored at
an Israel Bond women's division
"Merci Beaucoup" luncheon at
the Jewish Community Center,
18100 Meyers, at 12 noon, next
Thursday.
Mrs. Harry Portnoy and Mrs.
Philip Cutler will be inducted
as "Women of Valor," signify-
ing that they have reached the
$100,000 mark in purchases,
sales and collections of pledges

The Sisterhood of Cong. Aha-
vas Achim has planned two
headline activities for -Tues-
day and Wednesday at the syna-
gogue.
Rabbi Moses Lehrman, spirit-
ual leader of Cong. Bnai Moshe,
will be guest speaker at the sec-
ond in a series of lecture-lunch-
eon meetings sponsored by the
sisterhood's Women's Institute,
at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday in the
social hall.
Rabbi Lehrman will speak on
"The Biblical Age—The Tal-
mudic Era."
Reservations may be made by
calling Mrs. David Grainer, Sis-
terhood adult education chair-
man, at UN 3-2962.
"Sisterhood Gaities," a skit
starring members of the organi-
zation, will be presented at
12:30 p.m. Wednesday, as fea-
tured entertainment • of the Sis-
terhood's paid-up membership
luncheon.
Participants in. the skit will
be Mesdathes Bernard White-
man, choreographer; Leonard-
Schreiber, director and barker;
Emil Farkas, accompanist; Ed-
ward Allen, Bernard Glazier,
Lester Wolfe, Bert Heller, Hai-
ry Goldstein, Jerome Kirsch-
baum, Larry Guttenberg and
Meyer Levey.
