Besides Rabbi Levin, she is survived by a son, Rabbi Abra- ham Levin; three daughters, Mrs. Chaim Keller, Mrs. Beryl Wein and Mrs. Yaakob Lifshitz; a sister and nine grandchildren. Philip Leemon Dies in ,San Francisco Philip Leemon, a former De- troiter who moved to San Fran- cisco, Calif., 15 years ago, died Oct. 24, in San Francisco, where services and interment were held. Born and raised in Detroit; Mr. Leemon made his home in California since the end of World War II, in which he served as a naval officer. He was active in veterans affairs. Funeral services were held at Kaufman Chapel Sunday afternoon. Surviving him is his wife, Anna; son, Dr. Norman R. Kor- man, who is on the staff of Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Fla., and a sister, Dena Korman in Russia. Long active in the affairs of the Sholem Aleichem Institute here, the deceased was control- ler at the Jewish Home for Aged for 32 years and retired recently due to illness. He became famous for his Yiddish poetry anthologies and for several of his plays which were produced by the famous Wilna Troupe. Mr. Korman's prose and poetry translations into Yiddish from many languages, including the works of Heine, were pub- lished in Russia, France, Latin America and other countries, as well as in this country. Born in Kiev, Russia, Mr. Korman devoted himself froin his youth to Yiddish cultural work and was secretary of the Yiddish section of the All- Ukrainian Literary Commission. He left Russia in 1921, lived in Warsaw and Berlin before corn- ing to Detroit in 1923. In 1928, he published his an- thology "Yiddish Women Poets." He translated into Yiddish Gals- worthy's "Strife" and his latest book, "Signs and Symbols," published in Israel, contains a eulogy written - for himself. Wayne State Student, Herbert Hart, Dies Herbert S. Hart, a 25-year-old Wayne State University stu- dent, died Oct. 25, in his home at 2695 Pingree. Services were at the Ira Kaufman Chapel. A native of Detroit, he was a member of the United States Chesis Federation. He leaves his parentS, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Hart; two brothers, Alvin and Stanley; and two sisters, Mrs. Nathan Manela and Mrs. Irving Leve- nowsky.
